Yaya Toure is the African Player of the for 2011

Ivory Coast's Yaya Toure is the king of African football for 2011, the Manchester City star edged out Ghana's Andre Ayew and Mali's Seydou Keita in the race for the coveted title.

Seydou Keita finished second while Andre Ayew is third. Yaya Toure is a vital cog in the Manchester City machinery as he helped them secure the FA Cup.

The mercurial midfielder is renowned for his impeccable ball control, and recovery. Toure also plays a key role in the Ivory Coast national team which is currently the continent's No. 1 ranked team.
