Africa's finest footballers are set to be honoured in the prestigious African Player of the Year Award, the stars' sterling performance in their respective clubs and national teams will be closely examined to determine the eventual winner. The 2011 shortlist is as follows:

FIFA Ballon d'Or shortlist 2011

The 23 man FIFA World Player Award nomimation are out. The list which involves Samuel Eto'o as the only African representative features big names of players based in Europe such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Villa among others.
